However, you can start your driving lessons first You must be able to read a car number plate from a distance of 66 feet or 20 meteres (or the old style number plates from 67 feet or 20.5 metre). If you need glasses or contact lenses to do this, they must be worn each time you drive. If not you will have to take your theory test again. There is no limit to the number of times you are allowed to take the theory or the practical driving test.
